Nellie Lowry (Community Outreach Specialist), MA, NCC, LCASA
Nellie is a trained and experienced Functional Family Therapist who successfully engages and motivates families through the three phase process. She previously worked as an Addictions Counselor and was promoted to Clinical Supervisor who successfully trained, educated, and managed a staff of counselors at a substance abuse treatment facility.
Nellie received her Bachelor Degree of Science (2010) in Psychology from Fairmont State University in West Virginia and Master Degree of Arts (2013) in Mental Health Counseling with a Specialty in Addiction Counseling from Waynesburg University in Pennsylvania. Previously, Nellie was a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in State of West Virginia. Upon her relocation to North Carolina, Nellie is currently progressing through the LCASA and applying for the LPCS license.
Nellie has gained extensive knowledge while working in mental health, crisis, and addiction fields since 2010. Through this experience, Nellie has worked with children, adolescents and adults using a variety of theoretical perspectives in individual, family and group therapy sessions. Nellie practices from an Integrative approach to best serve the specific and individualized needs of the client. Offering a safe, judgment free environment, promoting growth for clients as they work through difficulties and celebrate their triumphs.
